报告内容:The Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics method was invented in 1977 to simulate astrophysical problems. After 40 years of studies and developments this meshless method is now becoming widely used in different Engineering fields. As a matter of fact, in 2007 the citations of papers tagged as “Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics” were about 4200, this number grew up to 16000 in 2016 (source: WoS). The majority of these publications deal with free-surface and interfacial flows and, in this context, the method was successfully used also by Computer Graphics studios for visual and special effects of movie sequences. In the recent years it was demonstrated that the SPH model, thanks to its intrinsic structure, is a consistent representation of fluids when described as macroscopic systems of discrete particles. During the presentation a brief recall of the history of the SPH will be given, underlying the peculiarities of this particle method and its theoretical background, and highlighting the main differences with respect to other classical mesh-based CFD methods.

报告人简介Prof. Colagrossi was born in 1972, since 1998 he has been employed as researcher at CNR-INSEAN, the Marine Technology Research Institute of the Italian Research Council, department: Engineering, ICT and Technology for Energy and Transport (DIITET). He is the attached professor at Ecole Centrale de Nantes and PhD examiner at Technical University of Madrid. In 2005 he obtained his PhD degree in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’. The main focus of his research is the theoretical and computational aspects of Mesh-Free numerical methods in naval and marine oriented research activities. He is currently the INSEAN project manager for the numerical simulations within the Horizon 2020, European Project SARAH (Increased Safety and robust certification for ditching of aircrafts and helicopters). Since 2006 he has been appointed member of the Steering Committee of the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics European Research Interest Community (SPHERIC, ERCOFTAC SIG n°40). He has been CNR-INSEAN project manager for the European Project FP7 NextMuSE (Next generation Multi-mechanics Simulation Environment). Author of 64 peer-reviewed journal articles, 2100 total citations by 1060 documents, h-index (by SCOPUS): 22
