From Sept. 7th to 9th, 2017, the Third International Conference on Innovation and Cooperation in Ship and Marine Engineering (ICNAME 2017) was held in Qingdao, China, under the theme of Innovation Driven, Cooperation and Win-Win Cooperation. The conference was jointly held with the Second East Asia Ocean Cooperation Platform Huangdao Forum. More than 300 renowned academic masters, top scholars and industry experts from 20 countries and regions, such as the United States, France and Singapore, have gathered together to work with shipbuilding enterprises in such areas as intelligent ships, marine renewable energy, deep-sea engineering, and underwater vehicles, focusing on the implementation of the strategy of a strong marine power. The domain develops deep communication.
On the basis of the previous two International Conferences on Innovation and Cooperation in Ship and Marine Engineering, the ICNAME Special Subcommittee was established to review and organize the annual work report and study the key works for the next year. At the same time, the meeting focused on international research hotspots in the fields of smart ships, marine renewable energy, deep-sea engineering, underwater vehicles and personnel training in the field of ship and sea, and organized bilateral/multilateral cooperation talks.
The International Organization for Innovation and Cooperation in Ship and Marine Engineering (ICNAME) is a joint initiative of the Harbin Engineering University of China, the Strachclyde University of England, the French Classification Society, the Dalian University of Technology of China, the Nantes Central Polytechnic University of France and the St. Petersburg National University of Marine Technology of Russia. Established solely in the field of marine engineering and led by Chinese universities, to promote and strengthen mutual cooperation and common development among renowned universities, research institutions and industry units, with the aspects of international ship and marine engineering in scientific research, transformation of achievements, personnel training and resource sharing, and to promote international ship and marine engineering Non-governmental cooperative organizations, aiming at the transformation of scientific and technological innovationsto practise, and development of research achievements in the industrial field.
