Marine engineering technology

This research field includes deep sea engineering technical research team, marine renewable energy research team, offshore engineering and intelligent waterway research team, etc. The research contents include floating platform structure and performance, positioning system, riser and pipeline system, marine environmental power science, underwater foundation and production systems, model test technology, marine renewable energy and efficient energy conversion system, marine renewable energy high performance carrier system and marine renewable energy system integration and optimization, water conservancy and river engineering design and construction technology, Intelligent waterway technology research.

This research group  have more than 30 team members, including 4 professors, 8 associate professorsand 4 advanced overseas experts. It has more than 30 masters and doctoral graduated students every year.

This research field aim at the leading development of marine engineering science and technology in the 21st century. Based on the first-level disciplines of HEU ship and ocean engineering, national key disciplines and deep-sea engineering science and technology talents invitation base, we will introduce talents in marine engineering technology domestic and abroad. A group of young and middle-aged academic leaders and academic backbones who are in line with international standards will shorten the gap between China's deep-sea engineering technology and foreign countries by digesting, absorbing and re-innovating. In the field of  drilling, mining and producing oil and gas for China's ocean engineering, especially deep-sea engineering, we support the key technologies and equipment development, marine energy utilization, provide first-class talent, research and technical support.

During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, we undertook nearly 50 scientific research projects, including national major projects, the fund from National Natural Science Foundation, the National 863 Program, the National Science and Technology Support Program, the National Marine Public Welfare Project, the National Marine Renewable Energy Project, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology fund, high-tech ships project, international cooperation projects, etc. We  mastered the key technologies of the overall performance, riser, positioning system, structural analysis and model test of the deepwater platform, and won 2 provincial awards, published more than 100 high-level articles, 5 books, obtained nearly 30 items of invention patents and software copyrights.
