The Key Laboratory of Ship Science and Technology carries outcutting-edge fundamental scientific research as well as scientific application activities in seven fields: marine vehicle technology, deep sea engineering technology, ship general design and system technology, naval architecture and ocean engineering design and manufacturing, marine fluid mechanics, ship and ocean engineering structural mechanics, ports, waterways and coastal engineering technology. The Lab has played an important supporting role in improving the development of China's ship and marine engineering disciplines. At the same time, it actively promotes the application of technological achievements and provides technical support for the development of the industry. After years of construction and improving, the laboratory has become a research base of China for naval architecture and ocean engineering and also base for cultivating and training high-level compound talents.
